Partner of a New Zealand citizen/resident visa
If in a relationship with a New Zealand citizen or resident then various partnership visas are available. Proof of living together is required, and living together for 12 months is the threshold to apply for partnership residence. If you have not been living together with your partner for 12 months then partnership work visa and visitor visas are also available.
Requirements:
- Be over the age of 18 (16 or 17 with parental consent)
- Must be in living together in a genuine and stable relationship and the partner currently holds a New Zealand residence visa
- Your partner must not be a close relative.
- Your partner must meet certain requirements.
- Can include any dependent children up to 24 years old.
- Must meet the minimum English requirements.
- Must meet health and character requirements.
